The Yale Difference

The Yale School of Engineering & Applied Science (SEAS) treats Engineering as a curriculum in leadership for the 21st century, understanding that professional engineering is only one of many options for a SEAS graduate. The skills of engineering - quantitative reasoning, teamwork, and the habit of breaking complex problems into manageable pieces - are as valuable to those pursuing engineering as a career as they are to those who move toward careers in medicine, law, business and other fields. All SEAS students benefit from the intimacy in education and large breadth in research the school offers. Students learn from some of the top engineers and scientists in the world while participating in discovery at the cutting edge. Whether it's nanoscience, targeted drug delivery, or sustainability issues, our researchers are engaged in the most innovative research of our time, making transformative breakthroughs that tackle some of today’s greatest societal needs.

“One of the greatest assets of Yale’s Biomedical Engineering program is its extensive connections to the basic science and clinical departments throughout the Yale School of Medicine.”

“My training and research greatly benefited from the expertise of professors and other students and also from the close collaboration between the combustion labs.”

“Yale Engineering gives students access to the leaders in their field and all but guarantees that we are the future leaders in our field.”

“ I chose Yale, because out of the many schools I visited, only here did I find all of the important qualities that fit my research. ”
